AceClamp™ Specification
PART 1 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK
- Furnish and install ACECLAMP™ as manufactured by Precision Molding Company,Inc. ACECLAMP™ can be used for anchoring rooftop equipment including, but not limited to snow guards, solar panels, rooftop piping, conduits, and other ancillary equipment specified on the building plans. Caution: No fastener penetrations of the roof membrane are permitted.
1.02 SUBMITTALS
- A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's literature including installation instructions.
- B. Shop Drawings: Submit roof drawings showing locations of all ACECLAMP™ including, where pertinent, clamp spacing.
- C. Samples: Submit sample of ACECLAMP™ and mockups of any required special assemblies.
1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE
- A. For critical installations, furnish evidence of product testing performed on the panel seam for tensile load-to-failure in a direction parallel to the roof seam. Testing shall be conducted by a recognized independent testing laboratory. Provide calculations, if requested, that project application doesn't exceed the ultimate failure loads as proven by testing, using a safety factor of two (2).
- B. Provide clamps complete with stainless steel bolts and washers as furnished by the manufacturer.
- C. Comply with all applicable local, state, and national building codes as well as OSHA regulations when using and installing ACECLAMP™.
1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
- Boxes containing ACECLAMP™ should be stored in a dry place until ready for installation.
1.05 WARRANTIES
- A. Provide manufacturer's standard warranty.
- B. Provide installer's warranty stating that product has been installed in conformance with manufacturer's instructions.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 APPROVED MANUFACTURER

- B. Other manufacturers must meet all aspects of this specification and be approved in writing by Architect at least fourteen (14) days prior to contractor bid date. Equality must be shown in every aspect of this specification, including, but not limited to, tested load- to-failure values as outlined in section 1.03.A.
2.02 MATERIALS
- A. Clamps are to be manufactured from certified 6061 T6 aluminum, conforming to ASTM Standard B-221.
- B. Dimensions - ACECLAMP™ measures in fully closed position 2.75" long x 2" wide x 1.63" high.
- C. Hardware: All bolts, including bolts for attachment are to be 300 series stainless steel.
- D. Accessories: Any snow retention devices shall be "..components as supplied by Precision Molding Company, Inc." Other related attachment hardware or accessory items not furnished with the ACECLAMP™ should be of noncorrosive materials compatible with 6061 T6 aluminum.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION
- A. Lay out required clamp locations before beginning to install clamps.
- B. Assemble clamp to seam following manufacturer's instructions.
- C. When application relies on tested load-to-failure values, minimum bolt tensions shall be randomly verified using (calibrated) torque wrench per manufacturer's instructions.
- D. Provide required fall and other hazard protection in accordance with OSHA regulations when installing clamps and accessories.
- E. Clean roof of any residual debris resulting from clamp installation and any related attachments.
3.03 CLOSE-OUT
- Deliver all warranties to Owner or Owner's designated Representative.
