What is the ACECLAMP™?
The ACECLAMP™ is a simple mechanical device that will enable you to attach accessory products, such as solar panels, snow-guards, satellite dishes, pipe supports, etc. to your standing seam roof panels without drilling holes through your roof.
Will the ACECLAMP™ damage my roof?
The ACECLAMP™ compresses the vertical seam between the two clamp main body components as the hex-socket screws are tightened. There will be a slight distortion at the two points of contact between the clamp and the roof seam. If the ACECLAMP™ is installed correctly, there should be no damage to your roof.
Any load attached to the ACECLAMP™ will be directly transferred to the roof panel below it. You should be certain that the panel and the roof structure are adequately designed to support the load being considered.
How much load will the ACECLAMP™ support?
We do not test the ACECLAMP™ for loads normal (or perpendicular) to the roof surface. Your architect should be consulted to determine if the building structure and the corresponding roof system can support the load considered. Our tests will determine the force required to cause the clamp to slip linearly in line with the seam. That load will vary depending on the seam configuration, panel material, etc. Loads in excess of 2000 lbs. have been achieved with certain panels.
Has the ACECLAMP™ been tested with my roof panel?
The ACECLAMP™ is relatively new to the marketplace and we are constantly evaluating it with various roof panel manufacturers. Contact us and we will test to determine the minimum load to slip (parallel) with your specific panel seam at no cost to you.
The ACECLAMP™ is not recommended for attachment of worker fall protection devices. PMC Industries, Inc. expresses no opinion as to the suitability of use of the ACECLAMP™ for any specific project or application.
